Mastering communication in English has become a strategic issue for international companies. 7Speaking designs and sets up systems as strategic projects and evaluates in detail the return on investment for each of their clients.
4 levels of evaluation

7Speaking strives to evaluate its training programs using Donald L Kirkpatrick's 4 levels of learning evaluation:

1-  Satisfaction
2-  Training evaluation (evaluation of knowledge acquired)
3-  Evaluation of putting acquired knowledge into practice
4-  Evaluation of the impact of the training.

The 4th level is used to evaluate the ROI (gain / investment).

Most language training programs only evaluate satisfaction and increase in knowledge, by testing language levels and providing 'hot' satisfaction questionnaires (immediately after the training).

Some programs also provide 'cold' evaluations using 360° questionnaires after the training and so can measure the how the acquired knowledge is put into practice (level 3).

In addition to these three levels, 7Speaking strives to evaluate in concrete terms the impact of the training on the productivity of the company.

Productivity indicators

In order to evaluate the return on investment, our consultants help you to define performance indicators and to give a value to the performance gains.

The definition of the indicators is established from a previously-conducted audit.

7Speaking consultants establish key indicators for the company's issues based on the company's strategic objectives and a large online survey of the staff.

Here are a few examples of indicators:
- Participation rate for telephone conferences in English
- Open rate for internal newsletters in English
- Participation rate for non-English-speakers at training courses only in English
- Average time spent dealing with requests written in English
- Number of contracts dealt with directly in English without needing translation, etc.

There are 2 types of indicators:

- they can be factors which the company habitually measures, such as the open rate of internal newsletters in English

- or they can be the answers given to questions such as "how much time do you think you save each week doing x or y, thanks to your progress in English?".

After our consultants have helped you to choose the most relevant indicators, 7Speaking sets up and deploys this type of online survey a few months after the training.

For each indicator, a way of calculating the improvement in performance is defined. For example: evaluating savings in translation costs or time; or putting a value on the fact that a member of staff can go to meetings alone without needing to take a bilingual colleague along.

The questions can be specific to the job and business activity of each group analyzed.
